The concert opens with the first three symphonic poems of Smetana's My Country (Má vlast) - the majestic Vyšehrad, the beloved Vltava (The Moldau) tracing the course of the Czech lands' most famous river, and the fierce Šárka. The evening continues with Dvořák's lyrical Violin Concerto in A minor and Rachmaninoff's virtuosic Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
