Christmas with Vivaldi Orchestra Praga in St. Nicholas Church on Old Town Square – Messiah Overture, Vivaldi's Winter, Corelli's Christmas Concerto and carols.
St. Nicholas Church on the Old Town Square is famed for its breathtaking Baroque interior and excellent acoustics, where classical concerts have become a long and popular tradition. There is no better setting for an evening of early music played the way it once sounded. In December, the concert is a lovely end to a visit to the Christmas markets on Old Town Square – the church with its nativity scene is just a few steps from the big Christmas tree.

The ensemble strives to preserve every attribute of authenticity – period instruments, bows, gut strings and old tunings – to interpret the music as it was performed in its own time. Its core repertoire is the work of Antonio Vivaldi and other masters of world and Czech baroque music, and its members have recorded many albums for the Japanese labels Pony Canyon and Exton and the Czech labels Oliverius and Arta Records.
