CHAMBER MUSIC EVENING – BENEFIT CONCERT
This benefit chamber music evening, part of the OLYMPUS MUSICUS 2026 international music festival, will take place in the unique setting of the Mirror Chapel at the Clementinum. The evening will combine world-class chamber music with a spirit of solidarity and support for Ukrainian students who have found a new home and educational opportunities in the Czech Republic. The program offers a compelling musical journey through the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Works to be performed include Max Bruch’s deeply moving *Kol Nidrei*, Moritz Moszkowski’s virtuosic Suite for Two Violins and Piano, and Erwin Schulhoff’s expressive Violin Sonata No. 2. The evening will culminate in a performance of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 57—one of the most significant chamber works of the 20th century. Featuring leading Czech and international artists, the concert promises not only an extraordinary musical experience but also serves as a reminder of the power of music to foster mutual understanding, hope, and human solidarity.
