A safari painted in UV light — Afrikania, the black light comedy by Prague's IMAGE Theatre.
Two tourists on an exotic holiday, a postman who suddenly finds himself running an abandoned hotel — and one big, playful misunderstanding in the land of Afrikania, where lions, giraffes and the whole animal kingdom come to life through the newest black light tricks, dazzling costumes and professional dancers. The show is entirely non-verbal, so there is no language barrier — just pure visual fun.
In more than 25 years on the Prague scene, the IMAGE Black Light Theatre has toured over a hundred times across Europe and as far as South Korea, Hong Kong, India and the United Arab Emirates. Its signature style blends classic black light technique with modern dance, mime, original costumes and playful contact with the audience — mystification and precisely executed visual tricks in a live performance for a live audience.
