Bolero, Carmina Burana

About the concert

Bolero, O Fortuna and Hava Nagila beneath the golden arabesques of the Spanish Synagogue — an hour of the world's most beloved melodies in Prague's Jewish Quarter.

The Czech Collegium chamber ensemble joins acclaimed sopranos Michaela Šrůmová and Naděžda Chrobáková in a programme that sweeps from Ravel's hypnotic Bolero and Orff's O Fortuna to opera favourites, Gershwin and traditional Jewish songs.

The Spanish Synagogue, built in 1868 in dazzling Moorish Revival style inspired by the Alhambra, is widely regarded as the most beautiful synagogue in Europe — its golden arabesques and rare acoustics make it an unforgettable concert setting in the heart of Prague's Jewish Quarter.
