Kaiserstein Palace

The Kaiserstein Palace is a popular venue for organising chamber music concerts with an unforgettable atmosphere.

Two Renaissance houses were merged and rebuilt in 1714 into today´s palace. The first owner of the Palace was Frantisek Helfried, Baron of Kaiserstein and a military commander of Prague. In the 19th century, the edifice belonged to Marshall Radecky, who is considered one of the greatest generals of his time. A Later owner, Vaclav Petzold, established a restaurant here. His wife, an opera singer Marie Sittova, was the first "bartered bride" in the famous opera by Bedrich Smetana. Another famous personality who lived in the palace was French geologist and paleontologist Joachim Barrande.

The famous opera singer Ema Destin lived in Kaiserstein Palace and the music hall named after her host's chamber concerts of classical music.
